The Borromeo is a monumental decorative vase that commands attention through sheer presence and classical elegance. Standing 140 cm tall with a generous diameter of 85 cm and a weight of approximately 550 kg, this piece belongs to the great tradition of Italian ornamental garden sculpture — designed to anchor a space, define an axis, or crown a terrace with unmistakable authority.
Its profile draws from the noble vocabulary of classical urns: a broad, generous body that swells with confident volume, supported by a substantial base and finished with a wide, structured rim. The proportions are carefully balanced to convey both grandeur and refinement, making the Borromeo equally at home flanking the entrance of a historic villa, presiding over a formal garden, or serving as a focal point on a large private terrace.
Every Borromeo vase is crafted from agglomerato cementizio composto da graniglia di marmo di Carrara e cemento bianco RCK 52,5 — a certified compound that combines the luminous texture of genuine Carrara marble aggregate with the structural integrity of high-grade white cement. The result is a surface of natural depth and warmth, with the characteristic pale, stone-like finish that weathers beautifully over time and integrates harmoniously into both formal and contemporary outdoor settings.
Each piece is hand-finished by skilled artisans at Italpark’s workshop in Borgo San Giacomo, Brescia, ensuring that surface details, edges and proportions meet the exacting standards the company has maintained since 1968. The material is resistant to UV exposure, rain and temperature variation, making the Borromeo suitable for year-round outdoor display without protective covering.
The Borromeo works beautifully as a purely decorative element — displayed empty, it is a sculptural object in its own right. It can equally serve as a large planter for specimen shrubs, ornamental grasses, topiary or seasonal flowering plants, adding a layer of living texture to its architectural presence.
To preserve the vase and ensure correct drainage when used as a planter, place a 4–5 cm layer of gravel or pebbles at the bottom before adding soil — this keeps the drainage hole clear and prevents waterlogging at the roots. Always raise the vase 3–4 cm from the ground using feet or spacers so that the drainage hole remains unobstructed from below and water can flow freely.
In regions subject to frost, particular care is required: if water accumulates inside the vase and freezes, the expansion of ice can cause cracking or structural damage. Ensure drainage is always fully functional before the onset of cold weather, and avoid allowing standing water to remain in the base of the vase during winter months.
The Borromeo is produced entirely at Italpark’s facility in Borgo San Giacomo, Brescia — 100% Made in Italy, hand-finished with the same artisanal dedication that has defined the company since its founding in 1968. Each vase is an expression of a living craft tradition, built to last for generations in the gardens and terraces it is chosen to adorn.
Dimensions and weight are indicative. The Borromeo vase is intended exclusively for decorative outdoor use.
