The Romano Grande is a monumental decorative garden vase that draws inspiration from the grand classical tradition of ancient Roman vessels. Standing 82 cm tall (32.3”) with a generous diameter of 58 cm and a substantial weight of 92 kg (202.9 lbs), this piece commands attention in any outdoor setting — whether placed at the entrance of a villa, along a garden path, or as a centrepiece on a spacious terrace. It is also available in a smaller size: Ø 40 cm × H 57 cm (approx. 34 kg).
Its broad, rounded body tapers gracefully toward a defined base, while the wide mouth opens with a confident, welcoming profile. The generous proportions give the Romano Grande an authoritative presence, balancing classical solidity with refined decorative elegance. Every surface is hand-finished by skilled craftsmen, revealing the natural texture and subtle luminosity of the marble aggregate.
Art. 197 is crafted from agglomerato cementizio composto da graniglia di marmo di Carrara e cemento bianco RCK 52,5 — a certified composite material that combines the natural beauty of Carrara marble granulate with the structural integrity of high-grade white cement. The result is a surface with a distinctive, stone-like aesthetic that weathers beautifully over time, developing a natural patina that enhances its classical character.
This material ensures excellent resistance to UV exposure, temperature fluctuations, and outdoor conditions, making the Romano Grande a durable year-round element for any exterior space.
The Romano Grande is designed as a decorative outdoor vase, equally striking whether displayed empty as a sculptural garden element or planted with seasonal flowers, ornamental grasses, or trailing plants. Its scale makes it particularly suited to:
To preserve the integrity of your Romano Grande over time, a few simple precautions are recommended. When used as a planter, always place 4–5 cm of gravel or small stones at the bottom of the vase before adding soil — this keeps the drainage hole clear and prevents waterlogging at the roots.
It is equally important to raise the vase 3–4 cm from the ground using feet or spacers, so that the external drainage hole is never obstructed by the surface beneath. Please note: if water is allowed to stagnate inside the vase and subsequently freezes during winter, frost expansion may cause cracking. Ensuring proper drainage at all times is the most effective way to protect your vase throughout the colder months.
The Romano Grande is produced entirely at Italpark Srl’s workshop in Borgo San Giacomo, Brescia, where artisanal garden vases have been hand-finished with the same dedication since 1968. Each piece reflects over five decades of Italian craftsmanship — a 100% Made in Italy decorative element built to last generations.
Dimensions and weight are indicative and may vary slightly due to the handcrafted nature of the production process.
