The Furious Amazon draws inspiration from one of antiquity’s most compelling archetypes: the Amazon warrior, a figure rooted in Greek mythology as a symbol of untamed feminine power, courage, and independence. Representations of Amazons in combat — captured mid-motion, fierce and resolute — were a recurring subject in ancient Greek sculpture and relief work, most famously celebrated in the friezes of the Parthenon and the Temple of Apollo at Bassae. The dynamic tension of the warrior in battle became a defining aesthetic of classical art, conveying both physical strength and an almost spiritual defiance.
This classical garden statue is crafted by Italpark in Borgo San Giacomo, Brescia, using an agglomerato cementizio composto da graniglia di marmo di Carrara e cemento bianco RCK 52,5 — a material that replicates the luminous, stone-like finish of traditional sculpture while ensuring durability in outdoor environments.
