Sea Nymph

Sea nymphs – the Nereids of Greek mythology – have embodied the ideal of aquatic beauty and feminine grace for centuries. Daughters of Nereus and Doris, these sea deities populate the classical imagination as guardians of the waters and companions of Poseidon. Their sinuous figure and elegant bearing inspired generations of sculptors, from Greek antiquity to European Neoclassicism, becoming one of the most beloved subjects for decorating villas, gardens and noble fountains.

The Italpark Sea Nymph (Art. 499) is made of cement conglomerate of Carrara marble grit and RCK 52.5 white cement, worked according to the artisan tradition that has distinguished the Borgo San Giacomo workshop since 1968. Each piece is hand-finished by our craftsmen, with particular care for the details of the drapery, the forms and the surfaces, giving the sculpture the luminosity and texture typical of natural marble. About 145 cm tall with a base of roughly 40–45 cm, the statue reaches an indicative weight of 230 kg, an expression of the solidity and quality of the material used.

Placed on a pedestal, at the centre of a flowerbed or along a tree-lined avenue, the Sea Nymph becomes a striking scenic feature.
