ART. 156 — Amphora Garden Vase

The Art. 156 Amphora Vase brings the timeless elegance of classical Mediterranean forms to your outdoor space. With a height and diameter both measuring 46 cm, this perfectly balanced piece features the characteristic swelling body, tapered neck and gently flared rim that define the amphora silhouette — a shape refined over centuries and still unmistakably at home in contemporary gardens, terraces and villa settings.

Weighing 33 kg (approx. 72.8 lbs), the vase has a substantial, grounded presence that holds its own as a standalone decorative element or as an elegant planter for seasonal flowers, ornamental grasses or trailing plants. Its generous proportions make it equally suited to symmetrical arrangements flanking an entrance, to a solitary focal point on a stone terrace, or to a curated composition alongside other classical garden ornaments.

Material

Art. 156 is crafted from agglomerato cementizio composed of Carrara marble granulate and white cement RCK 52.5 — the certified Italpark compound that guarantees exceptional density, surface refinement and long-term resistance to weathering. The natural mineral aggregate gives the surface a warm, stone-like texture that weathers gracefully through the seasons, developing the subtle patina characteristic of authentic artisan stonework.

Placement & Decorative Use

Designed for year-round outdoor display, this amphora vase is an ideal furnishing element for gardens, terraces, courtyards and villa grounds. It can be used as a purely decorative sculpture — displayed empty to highlight its classical form — or planted up as a fioriera with your choice of seasonal or perennial planting. Its neutral, natural-toned finish integrates seamlessly with both traditional stone architecture and modern minimalist landscaping.

Maintenance & Care

To preserve the vase in optimal condition, always ensure the drainage hole remains clear: place a 4–5 cm layer of gravel or coarse stones at the base of the planting cavity before adding soil, so water can drain freely at all times. Raise the vase 3–4 cm off the ground using feet or spacers to prevent the external drainage hole from becoming blocked by the surface beneath.

This precaution is especially important in winter: if water accumulates inside and freezes, the resulting expansion can cause cracking or structural damage. Ensuring free drainage is the single most effective measure to protect your vase through frost periods.

Handcrafted Made in Italy Since 1968

Art. 156 is produced entirely in Italy at the Italpark Srl workshop in Borgo San Giacomo, Brescia. Every piece is hand-finished by skilled artisans following the same production standards established in 1968 — over half a century of uninterrupted Italian craftsmanship dedicated to decorative garden stonework. Dimensions and weight are indicative, as is natural with hand-finished artisan production.
