Our Lady of Lourdes – Art. 571/B

The image of the Virgin of Lourdes is one of the most beloved and widely recognized in Catholic devotional tradition. It draws inspiration from the apparitions reported by Bernadette Soubirous in 1858 at the Grotto of Massabielle, in the French Pyrenean town of Lourdes. The iconography is distinctive and deeply symbolic: the Virgin stands with hands joined in prayer, eyes lifted toward heaven, dressed in a white robe with a blue sash, and crowned with a radiant halo — an image of purity, grace, and spiritual intercession that has inspired artists and craftsmen across generations.

Art. 571/B is crafted by Italpark Srl in Borgo San Giacomo, Brescia, using an agglomerato cementizio composto da graniglia di marmo di Carrara e cemento bianco RCK 52,5. This carefully selected blend gives the sculpture its characteristic warm, luminous finish — reminiscent of natural stone — while ensuring excellent resistance to outdoor conditions. Each piece is rifinita a mano by our skilled artisans, preserving the expressive detail and devotional character of the original subject. Standing approximately 110 cm tall (43.3”) and resting on a base of approximately 27 × 25 cm, this figure carries a weight of around 67 kg (147.7 lbs), reflecting the solidity and quality of its construction.
