Bourbon Balustrade

The Borbone balustrade is a demonstration composition of the Italpark modular system — a refined example of how the standard components can be combined to achieve the exact length required by any decorative project, whether for a terrace, balcony, staircase, or garden enclosure. No custom moulds are involved: the same standard elements are simply assembled in greater or lesser numbers to suit the space.

Every component is crafted from cementitious agglomerate made from Carrara marble powder and granules, bound with white Portland cement RCK 52.5 — the same high-quality mix Italpark has been producing in its Borgo San Giacomo workshop since 1968. Each piece is hand-finished to bring out the natural luminosity of the marble aggregate, giving the surface a timeless, sculptural quality that suits both classical and contemporary architectural settings.

The composition is built from the ground up. Each span rests on a Small Base, which provides a stable decorative footing and anchors the vertical rhythm of the balustrade. Rising from it, the Bourbon Column forms the central upright of each module, its turned profile lending the characteristic Borbone elegance. The modules are connected horizontally by the Small Handrail, which runs along the top to unify the composition and complete the decorative balustrade line.

At each end of the run, a Pillar P. closes the composition with a taller, more substantial terminal element — a natural visual anchor that frames the entire balustrade. Where a lamp fitting or ornamental finial is desired, the Small Integrated Plant Box can be incorporated directly into the terminal pillar, combining structural elegance with decorative versatility.

Because the system is fully composable, the Borbone balustrade adapts to virtually any linear dimension: simply add or remove standard units to match the project requirements. The result is a Made in Italy marble balustrade of consistent quality and coherent style across the entire length — whether that spans two metres or twenty.
