The Four Seasons: A Timeless Allegory in Classical Sculpture

The personification of the Four Seasons is one of the most enduring themes in Western art, tracing its roots to ancient Greek and Roman mythology. Each Season was traditionally depicted as a female figure adorned with symbolic attributes — Spring crowned with flowers, Summer bearing sheaves of wheat, Autumn holding clusters of grapes, and Winter wrapped in heavy drapery. This allegorical cycle, celebrated by sculptors and painters across centuries, became a defining motif of Baroque and Neoclassical garden design, gracing the terraces of European royal residences and aristocratic villas from Versailles to the great Italian estates of the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Serie 4 Stagioni by Italpark is a complete set of four classical figures, each standing approximately 130 cm in height on a base of roughly 32 × 37 cm. The set is also available in a more compact 70 cm size (base approx. 20×20 cm, approx. 128 kg). Every statue is crafted from an agglomerato cementizio composto da graniglia di marmo di Carrara e cemento bianco RCK 52,5, a material that faithfully replicates the luminous, fine-grained surface of natural stone. Each piece is individually rifinita a mano by skilled artisans at Italpark’s workshop in Borgo San Giacomo, Brescia — a tradition of craftsmanship uninterrupted since 1968.
