From the 1962 Cantiere Gabiano to the art of recreating stone
Sixty years of hand-crafted Carrara marble aggregate work in Borgo San Giacomo (Brescia): from the first hand-finished fountains to the technique that now carries the Italpark name across Europe.
From Cantiere Gabiano to Italpark
It all began in 1962 in Borgo San Giacomo, near Brescia, with Beniamino Spinoni's Cantiere Gabiano workshop. What started as artisanal work in Carrara marble aggregate grew, decade after decade, into an Italian benchmark for garden fountains, planters and ornamental pieces in white-cement composite.
The sole proprietorship was formally established in 1971, going on to specialise increasingly in reconstituted-stone garden furnishings in the years that followed.
1962 — The founding
Beniamino Spinoni founds Cantiere Gabiano in Borgo San Giacomo (Brescia). Early work in Carrara marble aggregate lays the foundation for what would become Italpark.
1968 — The art of recreating stone
The technique that still defines Italpark today is born: a cement composite made from Carrara marble aggregate and white cement. Not solid marble carving, but an art of its own — recreating stone with the same finish and a unique workability.
1972 — The Italpark catalogue
Italpark's first catalogue is published. On the cover, Art. 108 “Neptune Fountain” (h. 260 cm, Ø 100 cm) in marble aggregate — the first major model to carry the company's name across Italy.
1980–2014 — Steady growth
Twenty-four catalogues, a steady evolution of design while keeping the same hand-crafted marble aggregate process. Each cover tells a different chapter of Italian garden style.
1976 — An Italpark balustrade for the Hilton Hotel
A milestone that speaks to the quality of the work: as early as the 1970s, Italpark balustrades in marble aggregate were installed at an internationally renowned hotel brand, Hilton. A reference that speaks directly to European buyers looking for a trusted, recognised supplier.
