Garden Statue and Fountain Maintenance
For maximum durability of our products, we provide you with the essential information and recommendations for the correct installation and proper maintenance of our garden fountains.
WARNINGS AND MAINTENANCE FOR GARDEN STATUES, VASES AND FOUNTAINS
It is important to take proper care of your pots when they remain empty. If drainage is not ensured for a pot containing a plant, the bottom hole may become clogged, causing rainwater to accumulate inside. During winter, this stagnant water can freeze, and as ice naturally expands, it may cause the pot to crack. To avoid this unpleasant issue—and to protect both the plant and the pot—it is advisable to:
1- Keep the drainage hole clear — Before filling the pot with soil, place 4–5 cm of small stones at the bottom to ensure proper water outflow. 2- Check the ground where the pot rests — Clay soil can block the drainage hole from the outside, even if internal drainage is correct. It is recommended to raise the pot slightly using 3–4 cm of small stones. 3- Use the pot safely — Once drainage is ensured, the pot can safely host a plant or remain empty without risk.
All items such as fountains, vases, statues, and similar products must be securely fixed in their intended location using appropriate techniques and, when necessary, mortars or adhesives capable of withstanding climatic variations. The pieces must be assembled so that they form a single, solid unit with the underlying base, which may require drilling or inserting brackets or iron rods.
All manufactured items must be treated only and exclusively with transparent impregnating products; do not use detergents or degreasers on them, as these could damage the exposed surface.
We cannot be held responsible for damage to people or property resulting from improper or inadequate use of the products.
If you encounter any difficulties, doubts, or dissatisfaction of any kind, please write to us and inform us of the issue so we can resolve it and improve our service.
Applying a transparent water‑repellent product (acrylic or water‑based) periodically slows the natural ageing of our items.
MAINTENANCE TIPS FOR GARDEN FOUNTAINS
Our fountains, designed for outdoor use, operate with a closed‑circuit pump and do not require a direct water connection. During operation, water may spray outside the basins due to rapid recirculation or external factors such as wind. The pump, whether submersible or dry‑mounted, must never run without water. It is therefore important to refill the fountain whenever necessary.
During the winter season, all parts of the fountain must be completely drained of water (spray ring with nozzles, piping, basin, and pump). Covering the fountain with waterproof material when the temperature drops below 3°C is necessary to ensure its integrity.
We recommend applying a waterproofing treatment in regions where particularly cold weather conditions may occur (our item SI05).
It is essential to soften the water using a limescale‑removing and anti‑algae product (for example, our items CH01 and CH02). Please note that the presence of limescale on the pump rotor voids the warranty.
CLEANING OF GARDEN STATUES, VASES AND FOUNTAINS
Wash the item periodically (no more than once a year) using water and a sponge.
If you use a low‑pressure water jet, you won’t damage the item, but you may remove the ageing patina applied in treatments no. 2 – 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 8 – 9 – 10 – 11.
