The Art. 237 Ortensia is a large decorative garden vase that combines generous proportions with a refined classical silhouette. Its wide, rounded body tapers gracefully toward a sturdy base, while the broad rim frames the opening with quiet elegance — a shape that recalls the timeless vocabulary of traditional Italian garden ornament. With a diameter of 72 cm and a height of 57 cm, this vase commands attention whether placed as a standalone sculptural element or used as a statement planter on a terrace, in a courtyard, or along the entrance of a villa.

Every piece is cast in agglomerato cementizio composto da graniglia di marmo di Carrara e cemento bianco RCK 52,5, the certified Italpark compound that gives each vase its characteristic warm ivory tone, its dense surface texture, and its proven resistance to outdoor conditions. The natural marble aggregate catches the light differently throughout the day, lending the piece a subtle, living quality that plain concrete simply cannot replicate.

The Ortensia Grande is equally at home as a purely decorative element — left empty to punctuate a garden composition — or planted with seasonal flowers, ornamental grasses, or trailing ivy. Its visual weight makes it an ideal focal point at the end of a garden path, flanking a gate, or anchoring a symmetrical terrace arrangement.

Maintenance & Care

To ensure long-lasting performance, always keep the drainage hole clear: place a 4–5 cm layer of gravel or pebbles at the bottom of the vase before adding soil. Raise the vase 3–4 cm off the ground using feet or spacers to prevent the external drainage hole from becoming blocked by the surface beneath. In regions with harsh winters, take care to avoid water pooling inside the vase: if water saturates the soil and freezes, the resulting expansion can cause cracking. Emptying or covering the vase during prolonged frost periods is strongly recommended.

The Art. 237 Ortensia is hand-finished at the Italpark workshop in Borgo San Giacomo, Brescia — a family-run production that has been crafting decorative garden pieces in 100% Made in Italy tradition since 1968.
