Eirene (la pace)

Eirene — the Greek personification of Peace — is one of the three Horae, daughters of Zeus and Themis, alongside Dike (Justice) and Eunomia (Order). Her most celebrated depiction is the marble statue by Kephisodotos the Elder (c. 375–370 BC), preserved at the Glyptothek in Munich, which portrays her as a serene, draped figure cradling the infant Ploutos (Wealth) in her arms. The composition conveys a profound message: true prosperity can only flourish in the presence of peace. Revered in ancient Athens, Eirene was honoured with an altar on the Agora and celebrated with annual sacrifices, a testament to how deeply her ideal was woven into civic life.

This Art. 432 reproduction by Italpark faithfully captures the graceful posture and flowing drapery of the classical original. Crafted in Brescia since 1968, it is made from a cementitious aggregate of Carrara marble grit and white cement RCK 52.5, hand-finished by skilled artisans to bring out the delicate surface texture and sculptural detail. Standing approximately 130 cm tall and weighing around 195 kg, this is a substantial, 100% Made in Italy decorative piece of enduring quality.

Eirene lends an atmosphere of timeless elegance and symbolic depth to any outdoor setting. Whether placed as a focal point in a formal garden, positioned along a villa's avenue, or displayed on a terrace, her serene presence transforms the surrounding space into a place of contemplative beauty — a classical garden statue worthy of the finest Italian tradition.
