Always keep the drainage hole clear: place a 4–5 cm layer of gravel or coarse stones at the bottom of the vase before adding soil, to prevent the hole from becoming blocked by compacted earth. Raise the vase 3–4 cm off the ground using feet or spacers, so that the external drainage opening remains unobstructed and water can flow freely.

In regions subject to frost, particular care is required: if water accumulates inside the vase and freezes, the resulting expansion can cause cracking or structural damage. Ensure adequate drainage at all times during the cold season, and consider emptying the vase of soil during prolonged freezing periods.
